Hummeltorp to the final in the Recycling Gala

On November 30, the Recycling Gala 2023 will be held in Stockholm and Hummeltorp's CEO is a finalist in the category "Recycling Inspirer of the Year". The award goes to a person who drives, engages and inspires others when it comes to increasing recycling and reuse, in other words to someone who makes a difference.

During the past year, Hummeltorp, with CEO Christer Otterström at the helm, has created a great deal of interest in the recycling of building materials on an international level. Organizations such as the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce (SACC), The Institute for Sustainable Development (ISD) in Washington D.C., The Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) and the European Industrial Research Management Association (EIRMA) in Brussels collaborate with Hummeltorp in the endeavor to get the entire construction industry to change to a circular way of thinking.

Together with ISD, Hummeltorp is the initiator of gathering international organizations, universities, researchers and companies into the Green Innovation Network (GIN) and of creating Sustainable Valley, a green global hub, in Sweden with the aim of accelerating innovations and green development.

Hummeltorp is one of three finalists in the category Recycling Inspirer of the Year with the motivation: "Hummeltorp's CEO Christer Otterström wants to inspire and accelerate the transition to a circular society. In a short time, Christer has created a great deal of international interest in the recycling and reuse of building materials."

- It is a huge honor to be one of the finalists and we are really proud. We have worked hard to draw the attention of politicians, academia, business and the public to the benefits of recycling all masses from construction processes, says Christer Otterström, CEO of Hummeltorp.

The recycling gala is organized by the newspaper Recycling, Återvinningsindustrierna and Avfall Sverige. The purpose is to drive development, create participation, showcase the best examples and draw attention to the industry.
