Extracted non-renewable aggregate materials, in Sweden alone, annually correspond to the weight of the Globe more than 2,000 times over. At least half of this amount could instead be replaced with recycled material from excavation waste. By recycling natural materials, Hummeltorp also works to reduce the extraction of sand and gravel, which are nature's only water filter for new clean groundwater.
